"Pros: For ambience there is no comparison in Nong Khai. I've stayed in the city many times because I lived across the river. The family are very kind and accommodating. The river view roons are the best ones for the full experience. The bathroom and shower area next to the balcony was cozy. I was able to do some work out in the garden at the tables with a view of the hotel and the river. Nice. The owners were super helpful. I will stay here again for sure.
Cons: Warning, the English level here is elementary. I communicated in Lao and they were fine. They know their business so don't worry. They had limited drinks and no food on site and there wasn't much nearby apart from the rooftop restaurant a few meters down. That was good for a late night drink or sunset dinner. Hard to get a tuk tuk or taxi without calling. They have one motorbike for rental."
