"Pros: Owner extremely helpful, offering high-quality Scoopy motorbike rental with pickup at the pier. Best price for aircon on the island by far. Location nicely quiet and near a beautiful temple and sunrise views right around the corner (no particular view from the smaller rooms). Aircon and shower water very strong. Would recommend this spot as a great base for exploring the island. Cons: Effectively no WiFi in the smaller rooms that are far from the reception, so you will need to rely on your own mobile LTE/5G hotspot from your phone (owner is working on this, but be aware Phayam is only just barely starting to have fiber via the island's power company, so even when you do get WiFi from any Phayam guesthouse, it likely comes to you via a LTE/5G-to-WiFi gateway operated by the guesthouse, so you might as well use your own phone's LTE/5G if you have it since your internet will be faster). Would be nice to have more tables inside the room for working/putting stuff (I moved my balcony table inside). In late FEB 2025 there was some construction of new bungalows across the street (whose planned scope was largely exaggerated on Facebook) but it wasn't too bad and still definitely much quieter than living at a guesthouse/resort on the beach that plays music all day." ~Chris

"Pros: The people at Phayam Garden View couldn't have been nicer. It was very relaxed and friendly. Central location, you need a scooter to get around wherever you stay (there are no cars), everyone rents them by the day or week. Cons: The bed in the bungalow was unusually high, but it didn't matter." ~Jonathan
