"Pros: The hotel is stunning. The owners have done a really good job with the theme - it really did feel like we were staying in France. The facilities were very good and we especially enjoyed the pool and sauna. We stayed mid week, so the hotel was very quiet, and there's wasn't any noise from any other guests. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Cons: I know we were staying in rural Thailand, but being from the UK we are not used to dealing with geckos! Unfortunately we had one in our room, which kept making loud noises, and left us feeling so unsettled that we had a difficult time getting to sleep. Due to bad weather there was a power cut, leaving us in the dark with the gecko! Unfortunately there was no staff on the site at night and the phone number proved for room service did not answer. I totally understand that the power cut was out of the hotels control, but it would have been reassuring for a member of staff to have spoken to us. We also had to sleep without the air conditioning as it was making a bit of a rattle - when the electric was on! I understand that this hotel attracts a lot of locals, so perhaps our western standards were too a little too high." ~Garrath
