"Pros: It's a fantastic little studio flat - light, bright,
high ceilings, comfortable and really well
equipped and furnished - washing machine,
smart tv, little dining table & 2 chairs plus a
really nice comfy sofa. Towels and toiletries
also supplied. Handy to know that there are milk sachets in the fridge and tea bags/coffee sachets in the cupboard if you want a drink on arrival - they’re not in view so you may not realise they’re provided but they are there. The flat was spotlessly clean - met 3 of the housekeeping team during the course of our stay and they were lovely, friendly and polite. Good communication from the owner Emma prior to our stay and she also messaged us to check everything was ok during our visit. Comprehensive welcome pack provided via WhatsApp. A few people have commented on the stairs (and yes there are quite a lot of them) but it's a second floor flat so to be expected - obviously not suitable if you have mobility issues. Also be aware that it's a residential property with some holiday lets as well as private rentals so don't expect the communal areas to be solely for holiday makers. This also means the hall, stairs, communal paintwork etc might appear a bit ‘tired’ and worn but that’s just the nature of having a mixed rental property. If you're struggling to find the light by the entrance, it's worth knowing that it’s at the end of the hall just round the corner to your right - press this and the stairs and landings are lit to the top.
Location is fantastic - short walk to the sea
front and an easy walk to Brighton or Hove.
Pet friendly which is a huge plus! Found it
quite easy to park on the street to drop off
and pick up our bags and then parked at
Norton Street multi-storey for the rest of our stay which is only a 10 minute walk away and very reasonably priced.
Cons: Just little things that are need a bit of
attention. They don't impact on your stay
but are just little extras that could be looked
at. e.g. clock needs a battery, could do with
a tea towel being provided, there’s no toilet roll holder, no shelves or any proper storage in the bathroom, shower door is tricky, shelves in the flat are a bit impractical as they're too high, the mirror is too high also (or perhaps I’m a bit short!). There’s plenty of cutlery and utensils available (not that you really want to cook when Brighton has so much to offer!) but it could do with more in the way of crockery, for example there’s only 2 mugs and limited plates and glasses provided. Also no proper draining board by the sink so be aware of this when putting washing up in the drainer.
There was a slight mix-up with the keys on arrival which after a long and hot journey wasn’t ideal and is probably the only reason I didn’t give my stay a 10/10. However sometimes these things happen and I really can’t fault the flat or the location and have booked to stay again!" ~Sara
